A close view of the Moon during the last quarter, showing feature from crater Copernicus to Eratosthenes. We can also see the ends of Montes Apenninus and Monte Carpatus, at the border between Mare Imbrium and Mare Insularum. Between Copernicus and Eratosthenes is an arc of craterlets, probably formed by splinters of the impacter that carved Copernicus.
Images acquired with a PL1 camera equipped with a red filter and set on a C14 scope. I acquired 499 frames of which I selected the 25 sharpest ones with Avistack2. I carried out a bit of sharpening and edge enhancing with personal scripts within IDL and made a few last operations (cropping, rotation and light curve) with Photoshop.
