Unexpectedly Heavy Stars from Long Ago Puzzle Astronomers | Star Formation & Early Universe | Supernova Explosions & Heavy Elements | Space.com: Some ancient stars in our Milky Way galaxy are surprisingly rich in some of the heaviest chemical elements. Astronomers found that these heavy elements likely came from early supernova blasts that spread heavy elements throughout space.
