Via Flickr:
Little Pluto, a small 14th magnitude streak of light representing 1 night's motion across a vast starfield.
2-minute exposure every 6 minutes for 6 hours on the night of July 7th, 2011, from Reno NV.
Technical Stuff:
DSLR Color Image
Astrotech AT8RC with AT2FF Field Flattener and Orion Sky Glow Imaging Filter
Canon T1i camera at prime focus
Orion Atlas EQ-G Mount
6 hrs total time lapse
47 120 second exposures, taken every 6 minutes (a few were more often than that). All exposures were stacked by averaging each pixel to reduce noise. The only thing moving in the image was Pluto! The tiny streak is almost imperceptible when looked at under low magnification.
