Reaching magnitude 7.2, comet ISON is now meaning business! I was trying to detect the first sight of the tail splitting in 2 parts under the influence of the solar wind. There is perhaps a hint of this on this shot. To be confirmed when its trajectory will be more curved!!
Telescope: C11-HD equipped with x0.7 reducer.
Camera: STL 11000m at -30°C
48 subs of 120s in 12 series with LRGB filters.
Processed under MaxImDL. The comet is isolated by registering on the comet head with median stacking and the result is added to a single LRGB series thus avoiding star trails.
Shots taken between 4:19 and 6:07 am local French time.
