Discovered on SNHunt image from October 13, 2012.
Object either lies in UGC 5232 or its companion galaxy 2MASX J09464539+1346582 which lies immediately north.
This possible supernova measured 17.07CV +/- 0.02 based upon the UCAC4 photometries of the labeled stars. Photometry includes some contamination from the companion galaxy.
SDSS field: cas.sdss.org/dr7/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=146.69000&...
NOTE: SNHunt153 discovered in NGC 474 also on October 13 appears to be nonexistent. After the object was posted, it was realized there was a problem with the image. Though my image from last night was inconclusive, I suspect the object was a noise artifact and not real.
