NASA Probe Enters Unexplored 'Cosmic Purgatory' at Solar System's Edge | NASA's Voyager Mission | Solar System & Milky Way | Space.com: NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft is traveling into a new region between our solar system and interstellar space. This "stagnation region" is about 11 billion miles (18 billion kilometers) away from the sun.
