Chicago's Adler Planetarium Honors Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin: Since it opened in 1930, Chicago’s Adler Planetarium has helped visitors understand the marvels of astronomy and historic U.S. accomplishments in space. But, as the museum prepares for a major expansion, it is also celebrating the accomplishments of other nations' space-faring achievements, overlooked during the Cold War.
