Image ID: 353853

Instrument: Wide Angle Camera (WAC) of the Mercury Dual Imaging System (MDIS)
WAC filter: 7 (748 nanometers)
Center Latitude: 30.60°
Center Longitude: 117.8° E
Resolution: 259 meters/pixel
Scale: The scene is about 138 km (86 mi.) wide.
Incidence Angle: 66.0°

Of Interest:This view is of a portion of the northern rim and ejecta of the Raditladi impact basin. Smooth deposits correspond to impact melt that ponded in low areas of the basin floor, wall terraces, and exterior ejecta. In a basin-forming event, large volumes of rock are melted by the tremendous energy of the impacting asteroid or comet.
