Another Look at Atget

Via Flickr:
At a diameter of 100 km, the crater Atget, named after the early 20th century French photographer Eugene Atget, is one of the largest craters within the Caloris basin. This targeted NAC observation provides our first high-resolution view of Atget's low-reflectance floor and ejecta, which were likely excavated from beneath the surficial plains when Atget formed.

This image was acquired as a high-resolution targeted observation. Targeted observations are images of a small area on Mercury's surface at resolutions much higher than the 250-meter/pixel (820 feet/pixel) morphology base map or the 1-kilometer/pixel (0.6 miles/pixel) color base map.
