M3
M3 is a globular cluster in Canes Venatici. Look for it 10 deg NW of Arcturus.
M3 is 6th magnitude, in binoculars looks like a compact ball of stars.
M3 is 27,000 lt yrs away, making it one of the closest globulars. It has 45,000 stars.
